I can’t believe Alex is already one year old. By looking at him it’s hard to believe he is only one year old! On his one year doctor’s visit he was 29lbs 3 1/3 ounces, 32 inches tall. He is now tall enough to reach items near the edge of the kitchen counter. He is getting too big for his 18 month cloths. Everything we buy is 24 month or larger. He is in the to 5% for height and weight. The doctor says he is healthy and doing fine. He has all his front teeth, his front mollers top and bottom plus his eye teeth. He is eating all the same food we eat now. He hasn’t wanted anything to do with mushy baby food for months. He started walking at 10 months.. at one years he is starting to run short distances when playing. He is a very happy boy. I can’t wait to see what he will learn today. Every day brings something new. A few days ago he learned to clap, today he seems interested in stacking blocks. There is a lot more I want to write today before I forget.. but I’ll save that for later posts.

Posted in Alex, Child Development with tags baby, toddler, walking on January 15, 2008 by MatthewAlex has been spending most of his time playing in a standing position. He loves to walk his way around the couches. He is finally starting to let go for a few seconds.. sometime trying to cross a long gap to reach me.. He can stand for almost 10 seconds when he is careful. I think he may be walking by the time he is 10 months.. we shall see.

I put him down on the floor on his tummy.. he rolled onto his back right away.. then Allison and I spent about 10 minutes using toys just out of reach to encourage him to roll over on to his tummy! cool!
