Perspective
Posted in Alex, Allison, Parenting, Phone, children, moblog on March 6, 2008 by MatthewIt’s amazing how the fear of loosing everything can change how you look at your life and family. The messy kitchen doesn’t seem like such a big deal. Chasing Alex around the house, keeping him out trouble, doesn’t seem like such a hard chore. I’m busy almost every moment Alex is awake. There always seems to be a dozen things that need to be done. Every day I note the big projects that absolutely have to get done, projects that I haven’t inested any time in. There is so much that I have been getting stressed about. Those things are real, and they will stress me out from time to time. That’s ok. I just need to stand back now and then and remember how lucky I am to have this family. I also need to remember to take lots of pictures and write every day. Because the cute things my kids do will just be faded memories and the are growing up so very fast. I wish I had a blog long ago for Allison growing up. At least we have video of some of our more interesting adventures. I love this family of mine.
Moblogging
Posted in Phone, moblog with tags hardware, moblog, Palm, Phone, SMS on January 21, 2008 by MatthewThere is too little time for me to update my blog if I have to be in front of the computer to do it. I got a new enV phonefor Xmas. I thought I would be blogging more with that. I will at some point. But I’m limited to 160 character SMS messages. I can compose much longer messages(like this one) on my old Sony Clie PDA. One manual sync later and the email is going to an email account the my WordPress install checks for posts. Not instant, but good enough. If I want an instant post I can still send a short one by phone. I wish I could make bettwr use of the keyboard on my phone. I’ll get a USB data cable eventually and see if I can come up with a way to sync notes on the phone to the computer. For now I’ll hav to carry the phone and PDA around.
