Poor kid. The hard part about being a toddler is all the toddling. He keeps finding new ways to hurt himself that I can’t keep up with. I thought the bottom of the stairs were safe when I was chasing him. He found a sharp edge on a baseboard.. with his head. Nasty little bump. Not a cut.. but a little goose-egg. I was almost completely healed the next day. On top of that.. just a few days ago the little dude was in his car seat.. and our dog decided it might be faster to just go over Alex to get out of the car. He got a nasty set of scratches down the right side of his face.. from his forehead, across his eye.. all the way down to his neck. His eye is ok. Luck for the dog.. or the dog would not have made it home alive.. I’m still not happy with the dog. He stopped being careful around Alex about a month ago. We really have to watch him now.

Safety First!
Posted in Alex, Health, SAHD, Safety on March 10, 2008 by MatthewAlex has been down for a long nap! That’s a good thing. I’m working really hard at getting the safety latches installed in the kitchen. Alex loves to adventure. I have a good idea where all the dangers are in the downstairs area. It’s rather tiring chasing him around taking his hands off of drawer and doors to keep him out of trouble. The more things I can baby-proof the easier and more productive my day will be. Installing the latches is turning out to be a little harder than I expected. I probably won’t finish until tomorrow.
